Ethel Schick

Ethel Lucille Schick, 94, of Noblesville, passed away on Saturday February 19, 2011. She was born on January 16, 1917 to Harold and Anna Whelpley in Detroit, Michigan.
Lucille was a graduate of Portage High School, in Portage, Indiana. She was a homemaker who, during World War II, worked for General Telephone in Chesterton, Indiana and in the late 60's and 70's for the Gary Post Tribune. After the war she and her husband, Marcus, settled in Gary, Indiana where they raised their two children, Warren and Patti. They remained in Gary until 1976 when they moved to La Porte Indiana, a town they thoroughly enjoyed. Lucille loved her Chicago Cubs, IU Basketball and the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas where she and Marcus spent the winter months for nearly twenty-five years. Lucille was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, in Noblesville and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marcus in May 2008, her parents and three brothers, Murphy, Don and Leonard.
She is survived by one son, Warren (Penny) Schick of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Patti (Wayne) Daege of Noblesville; six grandchildren: Warren (Stephanie) Schick, Jr. of Houston, Texas; Kip (Libby) Schick of Madison, Wisconsin; Marc (Julie) Daege of Noblesville; Jonathan (Tara) Daege of Noblesville; David (Jessica) Schick of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Bethany (Brendon Molebash) Daege of Noblesville; plus eight great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Christ Lutheran Church, 10055 E. 186th Street, in Noblesville, with Reverend Adrian Piazza officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 10055 E. 186th Street Noblesville, Indiana 46060-1659.
