F. Thomas "Tom" Keller, 84, of Brownsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his home. He was born on April 21, 1939 to Miller and Mary (Lux) Keller in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Tom was a 1957 graduate of Broad Ripple High School. As a decorated football player, he helped take his team to the top to become the 1956 City Champs. His love for football never ceased and he was a huge fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Oregon Ducks. Tom worked in the IT industry for over 50 years, appreciated all sorts of gadgets and gizmos, and had a sweet tooth for anything and everything vanilla flavored. His calling card was often a can of Diet Pepsi, and his jokes will forever be branded in our memories. Tom cherished his animals and family. An avid motorcycle rider, Tom was honored to participate in the Miracle Ride as often as he could. A friend of Bill W for 41 years, Tom's extension of friendship to others was selfless. Often touted as having 9 lives, Tom was a 3-time cancer survivor (bladder, kidney, & lung) that embodied strength, courage, and a zest for life and laughter.
Tom had 3 goals in life: 1. Get a college degree (which he accomplished at age 69, receiving a bachelor's degree from IWU). 2. Earn his pilot's license (which he started but didn't finish). 3. Become a Mason (which he did on August 3, 2009).
He is survived by his wife of 19 1/2 years, Judy Keller; son, Gregory (Wendy) Keller; son-in-law, Jerry Wides; grandchildren, Xander (Ainsley) Keller, Ryan (Kelsey) Wides, and Sam Wides; son, Mike (Elysia) Stoops; daughter, Jennifer (Aaron) Dubak; brother, Jack (Julie) Keller; grandchildren, Jackson Stoops, Brody Stoops, and Marie Dubak; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews, friends, and neighbors.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristi Lynn Wides; his sisters & their husbands, Frances & Darroll French, and Rita & Rex Dickerson; and his second wife, Norma (Kippert) Keller.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with services at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. Steve "Papaw" Pyatte will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tom's honor to Miracle Ride Foundation (https://www.miracleride.net).
