Frances Jane Bishop, 100, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Allisonville Meadows in Fishers. She was born on March 7, 1918 to the late William and Susie (VanTreese) Leonard in Indianapolis, Indiana.
For 20 years, Frances was a house mother for Delta Upsilon fraternity at the University of Texas. She served as a Red Cross driver during World War II and volunteered for Goodwill Industries and a women's philanthropic organization of Indianapolis. Frances enjoyed cooking and planning parties for her friends, and most loved singing in her school and church choirs.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Bishop Kincaid Johnson (Billy) and Diana Bishop Holle (Gary); sister, Margie Ryder; five grandchildren, James Kincaid, William Kincaid, Elizabeth McBurney, Michelle Holle Marks and Matthew Holle; as well as many great- and great-great-grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her sister, Wilma Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, with visitation from 12:00 noon to the time of service. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
