Frances Earline Coats, 78, of Westfield, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014 at home. She was born on February 17, 1936 to Chester and Anna (Smalling) Tucker in Lafayette, Tennessee.
Frances retired, to be a grandma, in 1997 after working 30 years for the Federal Government. Frances worked at the Pentagon and then at Crane Naval Base for over 20 years, where she had worked with radar systems for ships and submarines; and she proudly served her country with the U.S. Marine Corp. Granny Franny was a political junkie, an avid IU basketball fan, and loved to read, shop, and cut coupons for everyone.
She is survived by a son, John C. Coats; daughter, Stephanie L. (Brent) Hummel; siblings, Ralph, Joe, Jack, Bobby, and Patricia; and one granddaughter, Bailey S. Hummel.
In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Tucker.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Rd, Noblesville, IN 46062.
