Frances (Toombs) Ellingwood, 90, Noblesville, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at The Lodge Assisted Living in Noblesville. She was born April 24, 1919 in McKinney, KY to William C. and Dollie (Montgomery) Toombs.
She was retired after over thirty years with JC Penney, where she had been a sales associate and a department manager. She enjoyed the many friendships she made through working with the public. Frances was a member of First United Methodist Church in Noblesville; a 50-year member of the Noblesville Order of the Eastern Star; and had been active with the Senior Citizens Center in Noblesville. She was a good seamstress, and enjoyed her home and garden. She enjoyed traveling throughout the country with her late husband.
She is survived by son, Michael L. Ellingwood of Coral Gables, FL; daughter, Kay (& John) Swindell of Santa Fe, NM; five grandchildren, Amanda Ellingwood, Brenton Ellingwood, Brian Ellingwood, Claire Swindell & Kate Swindell; and one great-grandchild, Kayla Ellingwood.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Ellingwood in 2004; and brother, Edsell Toombs.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, July 24, 2009 at First United Methodist Church in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 10:00AM, prior to the service. Rev. Jack Wolfe will be officiating.
