Francis Coomer

Francis L. Coomer, 78, a resident of Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood, passed away Friday, December 5, 2008 at the care center. He was born March 18, 1930 in Columbia, Kentucky to Guy Washington and Mattie (Loy) Coomer.
Francis had worked for Rand McNally. He was a member of Elwood Bible Baptist Church; and a member of Graphic Communications International Union.
He is survived by his son, Rev. Dr. Terry (& Kim) Coomer of Elwood; granddaughters, Teresa (& Rev. Ron) Steege of Noblesville, and Jennifer (& Rance) Maruszewski of Centre Hall, PA; and four siblings, Mary Millage, Opal White, Paul Coomer, & Gloria Sue Clark, all of Anderson.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice B. Coomer in 1988; brothers, Lemuel, James, Frank, Marvin, & John Coomer; and sisters, Anna Blockson, Ruth Furkins, & Ruby Hollopeter.
Services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Elwood Bible Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Terry Coomer and Rev. Ron Steege officiating. Friends may call Tuesday, December 9, 10:00AM - 1:00PM at the church, prior to the service. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
