Frank Harp

Frank Harp Jr., 66, of Noblesville lost his battle with cancer on Monday, April 16, 2012. He was born on May 3, 1945 to Frank and Ada (Aubrey) Harp in Louisville, KY. His father precedes him in death.
After graduating from high school and completing some college courses, Frank joined the Army and completed a 15-month tour in Vietnam. Beginning in 1972, Frank spent his career managing, owning and operating Waffle House restaurants. In that same year, he married the love of his life, Linda. They would be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this September.
Frank was a member of the Lebanon American Legion and the Lebanon VFW. He enjoyed cooking on the grill for friends and family, and was especially proud of his grandchildren. He loved going to the casino and was an avid fisherman, NASCAR and sports fan, with a true passion for following IU basketball. If there were any ballgames to be watched on the weekend, you could be sure to find him and his son, Scott, glued to the TV. He loved his family and friends dearly, and was only a phone call away if you needed him. He would give of himself to make sure others were always taken care of.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his mother, Ada; two children & two step-children, Scott Harp, Michelle (Tim McCombs) Hicks, Greg (Heidi) Marley, and Julie Marley; granddaughters, Mallory & Adrianna Hicks, Hadley Brooks, Emma & Elise McCombs; mother-in-law, Mary; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; two nieces; one uncle; and several cousins.
Services will be held at 5:00PM on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 2:00PM prior to the service. Denny McCombs will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hamilton County Chapter.
