Fred A. Summeier, 87, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born on February 16, 1926 to Fredrick and Alma (Rosebrock) Summeier in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Fred worked in the printing industry for 40 years. He retired as production manager at Howard W. Sams (ITT Publishing) in 1985. He was a member of Printing House Craftsmen; a charter member of Noblesville Golden K Kiwanis, serving as treasurer and projects manager for many years; and a frequent figure at the Kiwanis food booth at the Hamilton County 4-H Fair. He was currently a member of Tuesday Morning Kiwanis Club, and Refuge Christian Church of Noblesville.
He is survived by wife, Vivian Summeier; daughter, Pennie (Stephen) Barnes; son, Steven (Teena) Summeier; four granchildren, Jessica Barnes (Brian) Kinsley; David Barnes; Lorrie (Bart) Preston, and Jennifer (Nate) Evans; plus six great-grandchildren, Zachary and Tyler Evans, and Alex, Sophie, Olivia and Nicholas Preston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Summeier, and sister, Dolores Ann Kirkham.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 22, 2013, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville, with Rev. Stanley R. Sutton officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Indianapolis, Indiana.
