Garrel Thomas Bryant, 75, Noblesville, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009 at his home. He was born March 18, 1933 in Fishers to Fred and Lela (Wallace) Bryant.
Due to the illness of a family member, Mr. Bryant chose to leave high school. He helped his aunt and uncle, Dorthy and Hubert Graham in Thorntown, IN, run their family farm, but returned to Noblesville High School, receiving his GED in 1984. Mr. Bryant worked at Western Electric for 30 years until his retirement in 1985. He was married to Janet in August of 1962. They owned Bryant's Lawn Service for 12 years.
Garrel was a member of Senior Citizens and the former president of Hamilton County Horse Association. He played Santa Claus at Christmas time for various groups. Garrel enjoyed camping, bike riding, working puzzles, reading, playing computer games, tinkering in the garage, and repairing bicyles and lawnmowers.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Janet Angeline Bryant; daughters, Debbie (Sam) Morris and Glenda (Jim) Simpson; sister, Betty (Earl) Gray; grandchildren, Cindy, Jeremy, Nicole, Natasha, Shawn, Eric, and Todd; great-grandchildren, Bryndon, Nikita, Makayla, Justin, and Greydon.
In addition to his parents, Garrel was preceded in death by son, Terry Bryant; brothers, Richard, Donald, and Eugene Bryant; and sisters, Beulah Johnson and Juanita Evans.
Services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, February 16, 2009 at Hamilton Memorial Park, 4180 Westfield Rd., Noblesville, with Rev. Luther Brunette officiating. Friends may call Sunday, February 15, 1:00-4:00PM at Hamilton Memorial Park. Burial will be at the cemetery.
