Gene Marks, 84, of Fishers, went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2014 at Community Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on July 25, 1929 to Curtis "Ted" and Ruth (Breedlove) Marks in Fishers, Indiana.
Gene served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and proudly worked for Sunoco as a builder for 26 years before retiring. He attended Butler University, was a member of Fishers United Methodist Church, the American Legion #470 in Fishers, and the Hamilton Lodge #533. Gene loved flying and building, he was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. His generous soul and spirit will be missed by many.
He is survived by his three children, Bruce (Donna) Marks, Brian (Debbie) Marks, and Brenda Cordle; twin brother, Jack (Doyne) Marks; nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Zoe Marks.
He is also survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Jerolyn (Jennings) Marks; and her children, Gary Neff, Gregory Neff, Mark (Barbara) Neff, and Cathy (Stephen) Harty; ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years, Judith (Anderson) Marks, who passed away February 12, 1991; brother, Joe Marks; and sister-in-law, Sarah Marks.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, January 17, 2014, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers, with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon until the time of service. Rev. Mike Reed will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
