Danny Eugene "Gene" Pryor, 76, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at home, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 1, 1937 to James and Floye Pryor in Somerset, Kentucky.
Gene married his loving wife, Norma Jane DeVaney on August 24, 1962, and were together for 51 years. He retired in 2010 after 60 years of being an over the road truck driver; and was a member of the Noblesville VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed being with his family, and spending time with his friends at the VFW and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Norma (DeVaney) Pryor; children, Danny Ray Scolfield, Kathy Scolfield, Cathy Stiles, Jeff Pryor, Sherry (Mike) Fry, Lisa Pryor, and Susie (Darryl) Bell; seven grandchildren, Amy, Jonathan, Kristina, Daniel, Caleb, Clayton, & Courtney; four great-grandchildren, Carter, Xavier, Jameson, & Paris; three sisters, Ruth Roe of Tipton, IN., Irene Steele of Tampa, Fl., Lois Myers of Livingston, TX.; two brothers, Ronald of Cicero, IN., David Pryor of Hudson, FL.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Michael Pryor; brothers, Richard, Robert, and Everett; and great-grandson, Jordan.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville, with Pastors Jim McGuffey, Ken Hurst, and Tim Hamaker officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Carey Cemetery, in Noblesville.
