George C. Collins, 85, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. He was born on August 10, 1930 to the late Constantine and Herma (Reinecke) Collins in Buffalo, New York.
George proudly served his country in the United States Army, receiving a Bronze Star during the Korean War. He graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. For 32 years, George worked as an engineer at Delco Remy, and was a member of Indianapolis Liederkranz. He enjoyed sailing in his youth at college, investing, and working in his yard. George also enjoyed opera and watching the Indianapolis 500.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy E. Quick; brother, John Collins; nephews, Manuel Arosemena and Juan (Lisa) Arosemena; great-niece, Nicole; great-nephews, Hayden and Alex; and his many friends in the Indianapolis Liederkranz.
Services will be held at a later date in Palm Harbor, Florida. George's care has been entrusted to Randall & Roberts Funeral Homes.
