George I. Dickison

George I. Dickison, 84, of Noblesville, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Wellbrooke of Westfield. He was born on October 31, 1939 to Irvin and Josephine (Portish) Dickison in Indianapolis, Indiana.

George had a 36-year career in education, retiring in 1997. He served as superintendent of schools for Frankton-Lapel Schools, assistant superintendent of Hamilton SE Schools, athletic director of South Wayne Jr. High School in Wayne Township, 1st basketball coach at IUPUI, head of physical education program at Crispus Attucks High School, and head of physical education program at Marian University. George was a member of our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, and a past member of Noblesville Presbyterian Church. He was active in the Kiwanis Club, John Purdue Club, Indiana Association of School Superintendents, and Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity. George was a big Purdue fan.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gretchen K. Dickison; 2 sons that he lovingly adopted as his own boys, Jeffrey (Lori Ann) Dickison and Greg Dickison; and his 2 granddaughters, Page & Courtney Dickison.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jane Gallant.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a memorial service at 11:00 am, on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. Private ennichement will be at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery in Westfield.
