Georgia Ruth (Heckathorn) Stewart, 89, Fishers, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. Ruth, as she liked to be called, was born June 18, 1918 near Hadley, Indiana to Stella Effie Hinton-Heckathorn and John William Heckathorn.
Ruth retired from Sears in 1985, after 37 years of service.
Ruth was a 60-year member of the Keystone Lodge; a member of Order of Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron and past District Deputy. She attended Fishers United Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughter & son-in-law, Barbara Jean (Sue) & Don Bolander of Fishers, Indiana; son & daughter-in-law, Robert Lee & Sue Stewart of Lapel, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 39 years, Henry Lee Stewart; two sons, John Henry and James William; and a great-grandson, Jared Sweitzer.
Calling will be Tuesday, March 4th, 2008 from 4 to 8 PM at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 2010 Allisonville Rd. An Order of Eastern Star ceremony will begin at 10:15 AM, Wednesday, March 5th, 2008 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary with funeral services to follow. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
