, 77, of Fishers, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at home. He was born on December 13, 1932 in Turlock, CA to Bernard and Olga Genevieve (Baron) Streb. He is remembered as a faithful and loving husband, proud father, and doting grandfather, giving strength, courage and laughs to all who knew him.
Gerry graduated from St. Augustine High School in Kalamazoo, MI, served four years in the U.S. Navy, then graduated from the University of Miami, Miami, FL and received his Masters Degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI.
He retired in 1997 as Executive Director of a construction industry fund in South Bend, IN where he lived for 30 years and raised quarter horses. He has resided in Fishers for the last nine years and spent his summers at his home in Ft. Walton Beach, FL with his wife and family.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, Carolyn G. (Thomason) Streb, he is survived by his brother Herbert (Sandy) Streb of Surprise, AZ; his sons, Jerrold (Michelle) Streb of Edwardsburg, MI, Christopher Streb of Ann Arbor, MI & Richard (Tammy) Streb of Noblesville,IN; devoted daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Szilagy of Fishers, IN; and ten grandchildren, Taylor, Steffany, Ashley, Shane, Abigail & Gabriella Streb, Halie, Jeremy, Alex & Carolyn Szilagy; niece, Diane Dick; and nephews, Mike & David Streb.
A private family memorial service will take place.
