Glenn Clark Blalock, 85, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville, Indiana. He was born on November 27, 1937 to Marlin and Mildred (Bird) Blalock in Clyde, Texas.
Glenn was a 1956 graduate of Clyde High School, later receiving a Bachelor of Science in Physics degree from Texas Technological College and a Master of Engineering degree from Old Dominion University. Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a federal government employee for the United States Navy in Norfolk, Virginia until his retirement in 1999. In 2012, Glenn moved to Halifax, Virginia where he became a member of Halifax United Methodist Church. Glenn later moved to Noblesville, Indiana to live with his daughter. Glenn's interests included aviation, meteorology, and astronomy. He loved to ballroom, square, and round dance. Glenn enjoyed spending time outdoors bicycling or flying RC airplanes and kites. In his golden years, he regularly strolled the neighborhood with his beloved dog. He was a devoted and loving husband, proud father, and kind man.
He is survived by his daughter, Andrea (Lawrence) Smith of Noblesville, Indiana; son, Christopher Blalock of Norfolk, Virginia; sister, Jane (Harvey) Williams of Mexia, Texas; niece, Susan Montgomery of Mexia, Texas; and niece, Stephanie (Shane) Contu of Forney, Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Penelope Blalock.
The Blalock Family has entrusted Randall & Roberts Funeral Home of Noblesville, Indiana with Glenn's care. A memorial service with military honors will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 9. 2023 at Halifax United Methodist Church, 133 Mountain Road, Halifax, Virginia. A private graveside service will be on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia.
