Glenna Marie Farr Rice, 89, of Noblesville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis after a battle with cancer. She was born on February 20, 1934 to Floyd and Mabel (West) Farr in Stinesville, Indiana.
Glenna graduated from Fishers High School in 1952. She married Ralph E. Rice Jr. on September 23, 1956. Glenna worked as Head Cook at Fall Creek Elementary School for 25 years. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed IU basketball. Most of all, Glenna loved the Lord Jesus Christ and her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Marks (fiancé Brian); son, Rick (Michelle) Rice; 6 grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Marks, Erik (Allyson) Marks, Matthew (Kayla) Onkst, Nicholas (Maria) Marks, Evan (Aubree) Rice, and Ashley (Zachery) Lockwood; 6 great-grandchildren, Hayden Marks, Hannah Marks, Evelyn Marks, Clark Onkst, Austin Lockwood, and Hazel Rice; and her sister, Doris (Dave) Russell.
In addition to her parents, Glenna was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Emerson Rice Jr.; brothers, Floyd Farr Jr. and Dallas Farr; sister, Rosemary Curnutt; and her son-in-law, Brian Marks.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with services at 12:00 pm, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers. Pastor Andrew Smiley will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Fishers.
