Gloria Maria Padro Diaz, 79, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. She was born on December 5, 1932 to Juan and Elisa (Ramos) Diaz in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her parents preceded her in death.
Gloria attended nursing school at the Nursing School of Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She retired from the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) in Indianapolis after 18 years as a customer service manager. After retirement she worked for the daycare center at Ft. Benjamin Harrison Military Base. She was an active member of the Puerto Rican Association of Indianapolis. She was an avid salsa dancer and loved working out, traveling and cooking.
She is survived by sons, Raul Padro, Luis (Lena) Padro, Tony Padro & Rafael (Michelle) Padro; sister, Lydia Diaz Ramos; four grandchildren, Amanda Lee Padro, Lydia Carmen (Patrick) O'Neal, Angel Lee (fiance, Ben Cannon) Dickerson & Amber Lynn Padro; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at 12 Stones Fellowship Church, 12130 Pendleton Pike in Indianapolis, IN 46236 with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Father Christopher Shocklee will officiate.
