Gloria Dotts Cox Maley, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was born on January 11, 1928 to Bruce O and Elca (Bain) Dotts in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Gloria retired in 2007, at age 79, after 24 years with the Lilly Endowment. She was a member of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis. She graduated from Shortridge High School in 1946. In the 1945 Junior Vaudeville, she was a vocal soloist in the first act, 'Hota Espanola'. In earlier years, she sang for several friend's weddings and church choirs. She was auditioned by and accepted as a member in the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir by the I.U Dean of Music, choir director.
She is survived by her son, Brian Cox; step-sons, Mark H (Jane) Maley, Timothy M (Maria) Maley, Frank M (Kathleen) Maley Jr and Sean D (Linda) Maley; step-daughter, Maureen (Stephan) Muller; sisters-in-law, Frieda Dotts, Kaethe Dotts and Nancy Maley; six grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Albert Cox and Frank Michael Maley.
Private graveside services will be held.
