Harold "Sam" P. Sampson, 80, of Tipton, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Tipton Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 19, 1931 to Nolan and Clara (Hendricks) Sampson in Fulton, MO.
Sam was a member of the Carpenters Union, and retired after 45 years as a Union carpenter. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church in Tipton, and a past member of St. Mildred Church in Somerset, KY.
He is survived by his wife, Beedie (Bear) Sampson, of 56 years of marriage; three sons, Mike (Mary) Sampson, Greg (Mindy) Sampson, Steve (Christy) Sampson; widow of Ray Sampson, Chris (Jim) Robey; brother, Curtis Sampson of Mexico, MO; 10 grandchildren, Paul (Ashley) Sampson, Dan Sampson, Jon Sampson, Charlene (Kyle) Powell, Beth (Markus) Sneed, Dawn (David) Delelio, Nolan (Jessica) Sampson, Kristen (Kevin) Sheley, A.J.(Hailee) Sampson, Adam Sampson; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor & Andrew Delelio, Brock Sampson, Bailey & Brandon Sampson, Nate & Alli Powell, Raymond C. Sampson and Bryan Sampson; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Ray Sampson; four sisters; and two brothers.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am, on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at St. Johns Catholic Church, 340 Mill Street in Tipton with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Rev. Leroy Kinnaman will officiate. Burial with full military rites will be at St. John's Cemetery in Tipton.
