Harold T. Stanley

Harold T. "Bill" Stanley, 89, of Westfield, son of Emmit and Lizzie Beck Stanley (now deceased) of Lee County, Virginia, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011.
Bill was a "people person". He loved and was loved by the "gals" who worked for him at Firestone before his retirement in 1977 after 30 years. After retirement, Bill became an avid fisherman. He spent many happy days and years at his place in Rockville, IN, fishing with the "over the hill gang".
Bill served his country well during WWI as a Marine in Guadalcanal, Saipan, Guam, and Okinawa.
He was a member of VFW Post #6246, American Legion Post #45, and the Navy Club. Bill was a brother, friend, and neighbor, and Marine to the end.
Bill is survived by one sister, Helen Lawson of Vandalia, OH; brother, Andy Stanley of Huber Heights, OH; and a dear niece, Donna Jean Stanley of Seymour, IN. He is also survived by his extended family, Gayle & John Jones, Patricia & Talmadge Middleton, special friend Randy Huntzinger, his private nurse, Susan Schroeder and family, and many other friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 29, 2011, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville, with Rev. Stanley R Sutton officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Riverview Hospice or cancer research.
