Harriet Mae (Kline) Lashiw, 92, of Horseheads, N.Y., passed away September 11, 2010 at Clare Bridge Nursing Home in Indiana. She was born on January 16, 1918 to Myrtle (Sawdey) Kline and Adam Kline. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Lashiw of Horseheads, New York.
She is survived by daughters, Joyce Lashiw Baxter, of Noblesville, Indiana and Jeanne Lashiw Elias and son-in-law, Albert of Vero Beach, Florida; a sister, Myrtle DeMember of Manassas, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Deborah Weiss, Charles Baxter and Philip Baxter all of Indiana, Laura Clement of Vero Beach, Florida, Suzan Haynes of Coral Springs, Florida, Michael Elias of Culpepper, Virginia, Linda Thomas of Coral Springs, Florida and Albert John Elias III of Coral Springs, Florida; 35 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Harriet volunteered 25 years at Elcor Nursing home and also volunteered at the Elks Club in Horseheads. She belonged to a Home Bureau in Horseheads.
Friends may call Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 7:00 - 9:00PM at Barrett's Funeral Home, 1004 Lake Road, Elmira. Services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, September 17, 2010 at the funeral home, with burial immediately following at Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads on Broad Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
