Harry "Papaw" Cadwallader, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at home. He was born on October 15, 1946 to Thomas Cadwallader and Evelyn (Pryor) Tapley in New Castle, Indiana.
Harry married the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Reed, on October 4th, 1968. Harry was a welder throughout life and on the weekends, you could find him fishing or skeet shooting at the Conservation Club. Harry also enjoyed hunting, boating, watching IU basketball, and Colts football. Harry was known by many as “Papaw”. He loved to hangout during cookouts that were surrounded with friends and family. He was comfortable at home with his surviving dog, Gracie, who he loved dearly.
He is survived by his daughters, Teia (Tod) Stapleton and Danae Fleener; grandchildren, Miranda (Joshua) Chapman, Jeffrey “Blake” (Carmen) Sebree, Carly (Dusty) Fleener, and Kara (Ethan) Mathis; siblings, Sylvia Johnson, Linda (Terry) Moore, Jackie (Dan) Schnautz, Laura Tapley, Gary Burten and Teresa Davis; sister-in-law, Jerri Cadwallader; along with many loved nieces and nephews; and 2 bonus grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and loving wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Thomas Cadwallader, Elizabeth Pinon, Brenda Barnes, Bill Cadwallader; and his dog Molly.
