Harry Leonard Nowicki, Jr., 72, passed away on March 14th, 2013. "Bud," as he was affectionately known to friends and family, was born on August 1, 1940 in Whiting, IN.
He and his wife of 43 years, Gail, resided in Noblesville, IN for the past 35 years, where they raised their two daughters. A lifelong educator, Bud served as school principal of the Gibault School for Boys in Terre Haute, IN, and Tri-County Opportunity School in Noblesville, IN. Through his decades of service as an administrator and advocate for special needs children, Bud helped to improve the lives of many youths and families. After retiring, Bud shared his love for reading and his laughter with customers as a bookseller at Barnes & Noble. His love for his family was paramount in his life. Bud and Gail enjoyed going out to dinner together, taking vacations, and attending their daughters' sporting events.
Bud was a very involved father and grandfather who never missed a swim meet or a soccer game. He took great pride in his daughters, Christine and Michele. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren, Abby, Makayla, and Ellie, to the zoo and playing games with them on the living room floor. He had a passion for the outdoors, especially fishing, and often took his family camping and on adventures in the woods. He is remembered as a man who was committed to and very proud of his family.
In addition to his wife, Gail, Bud is survived by two daughters, Michele (Tom) Prible and Christine Nowicki; three grandchildren, Abigail, Makayla and Elizabeth Prible; and two sisters, Mariellen Gibson and Sue (Jeff) Grassle.
