Herbert Laswell

Herbert B. Laswell, 91, of Port Charlotte, FL (formerly of Noblesville), passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born September 9, 1919 in Henderson, Kentucky to Herbert A. and Alma F. (Smith) Laswell. Herbert grew up in Evansville, Indiana. He was a graduate of Indiana University, and directed the Murat Shrine Temple Band from 1955 - 1969. He was also director of instrumental music for Noblesville High School from 1947 - 1954, and Westland Junior High School from 1956 - 1963; and was manager of the Operations Division Indiana State Selective Service from 1963 - 1973. Herbert was also an Army Veteran of WWII.He is survived by one son, Bruce H. Laswell; three daughters, Carol B. Vandenbark, Deborah A. Pynn & Amy M. Laswell; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Herbert was the widower of Vera E. Laswell.A memorial visitation will be at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville on Saturday, January 8, 2010 at 11AM, followed by a memorial service.
