Herbert H. McElroy

Herbert H. McElroy, 79, of Noblesville, passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born on September 3, 1937 to Charles Herbert and Hazel Mae (Hamblin) McElroy in Pennington Gap, Virginia and was affectionately known as 'Bud' to all who knew him.
Bud was retired from Firestone, where he had worked for 30 years. He enjoyed IU basketball, cars, hunting and fishing; and loved the fact that he and his grandson, Aaron, shared a birthday.
He is survived by his children, Sheri (Michael) Pharris and Douglas (Susan) McElroy; grandchildren, Aaron, Daylan, Brenden and Brayson; siblings, Alice Jones, Barbara McElroy, Joe McElroy, David McElroy, Danny McElroy and Eugene McElroy; and lifelong friend, Wayne Moore.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Ruth (Ely) McElroy who passed away in June 2011.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Pastor Bob Schon will officiate. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville immediately following the service.
