Irma Catalano, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Brookdale Castleton in Indianapolis. She was born on November 20, 1923 to William and Clara (Barth) Peterson in Chicago, Illinois.
Irma was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Chicago and Holiday United Church of Christ in Holiday, Florida. She was a member of PEO, a women's service sorority in Florida, and Eastern Star as a Women's Mason. Irma worked as an apprentice pharmacist for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Hettlinger of Carmel and Diane Dewey (Ted Kochel) of Monee, IL; four grandchildren, James Dewey (Ali Brock), Amy Hill (Keith), Jill Hawkins (Jason), and Matt Hettlinger (Yvette); and five great-grandchildren, Elise & Dexton Hill, Emmett Hawkins, and Graham & Nicholas Hettlinger.
In addition to her parents, Irma was preceded in death by her husband, James Anthony Catalano in 1998; and her companion, Fred Nichols in 2017.
A Life Celebration was conducted on January 20th at Brookdale Castleton. Irma's care has been entrusted to Randall & Roberts Funeral Homes.
