Isabelle Haverstick Harger

Isabelle Haverstick Harger, age 104, passed away in Noblesville, IN on Saturday, January 14, 2017. She was born to John G. and Chloe (Wright) Haverstick on July 20, 1912, on the Haverstick family farm east of Noblesville, now known as Stony Creek Farm. She graduated from Noblesville High School in 1929 and attended DePauw University until she married William Theodore Harger on November 13, 1931.
An active community leader, her service included: president of the active and associate chapters of Noblesville Tri-Kappa; instrumental in initiating kindergarten in the Noblesville Schools; founding member of the Boys and Girls Club Auxiliary; founding member and first chairman of the Riverview Hospital Chaplaincy Program; founding member of the Riverview Hospital Auxiliary Board; chairman of the Riverview Hospital Gray Ladies; member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and an active member of Noblesville First United Methodist Church. In 2010, she was recognized at Riverview Hospital for 50 years of service as a hospital volunteer and honored by serving as Co-Grand Marshall of the Noblesville July 4th Parade.
Surviving are her children: Nancy Ten Cate of Noblesville, IN; Susannah (Dr. James C.) Dillon of Carmel, IN; and James T. (Juanita) Harger of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren: Debbie Ten Cate Ballard of Greenfield, IL; Sarah Ten Cate of San Antonio, TX; John D. (Karen) Ten Cate of Carmel, IN; Dr. William C. (Sally) Dillon of Prospect, KY; John C. Dillon of Brownsburg, IN; Matthew C. (Ammie) Dillon of Carmel, IN; Barbara Harger (Stan) Lotridge of Plano, TX; and Marla Harger (Fred) Thompson of Carmel, IN.; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William T. Harger, who passed in 1994.
The funeral to be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 2051 Monument St, Noblesville, IN. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Boys and Girls Club of Noblesville, 1448 Conner Street, Noblesville, IN 46060; or, Noblesville First United Methodist Church, 2051 Monument Street, Noblesville, IN 46060.
