During his 20 years he served at Martin Army Hospital (Ft. While in Panama he met and married his wonderfully supportive wife, Maribel. They were married 44 years. Daughter Monica arrived in 1984. And then came three wonderful granddaughters, Zoe, Lucie and Marissa.

Following his Army years, he worked at LSU Hospital, Shreveport, LA (1984) and then moved to Indiana. From 1985 to 2001 he worked at USA Group, a student loan company in Fishers, as SVP, Management Services Division, where he led the HR, Facilities and Admin Services Departments.

He was also a life member of American Legion Post 470 in Fishers.

An admitted sports nut his entire life, he was a BIG fan of IU and MU sports, Dodgers baseball, golf, tennis, snow skiing, surfing etc. A passionate knowledge seeker and lifelong learner, LTC Selby was a loyal Jeopardy follower and read a wide range of books, newspapers, and magazines.
