Jacquie Reed , 73, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on September 16, 1948 in Auburn, New York.
In 1966, she graduated from Brookhaven High School in Columbus, Ohio, entering Miami University that fall and transferring to The Ohio State University afterwards where she graduated in 1970, and has remained a life-long Buckeye fan. She received her Masters degree from Indiana University and began her career as a speech pathologist working in schools, hospitals, and healthcare facilities in North Carolina and Indiana.
While at Indiana, she met her future husband R. Michael (Mike) Reed, and they were married on August 10, 1974, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. After Mike’s graduation from the Divinity School of Duke University, they moved to Indiana, where Mike served United Methodist churches in New Castle, Mount Vernon, Indianapolis, Vincennes, and, most recently. Fishers. During those years, Jacquie started and taught Sunday School classes, led Bible and book studies, served as a spiritual director and Stephen Minister, and participated in many other ways. Jacquie had a heart for people that manifested itself in numerous ways. She is a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
Jacquie was an artist who had works exhibited in various place and a writer who had a blog and wrote poems and other items published in several publications.
She is survived by her husband Mike of Fishers; daughters Sarah and husband Ryan Dineen of Indianapolis, IN; and Anna Reed and husband Brian Lum of Portland, Oregon; grandson Reed Jackson Lum, and a granddaughter due soon; brother Dr. George Pantalos and wife Dr. Diana Pantalos of Louisville, Kentucky.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Highland Cemetery, 11171 Hoosier Road, Fishers, IN 46037.
