James Douglas Black, 58, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in Noblesville after a three-month battle with cancer. Born on September 5, 1960, he was a Bloomington native and spent most of his adult life in the city.
Doug was predeceased by his parents, Joseph B. Black, Jr. and Sue Stone Black. He is survived by his two brothers, Joseph B. Black III (Janice) of Noblesville, and William M. Black (Jane) of Kewanee, Illinois; and two nephews, Joseph B. Black IV (Nicole) and David J. Black.
Doug was a professional recording engineer and was able to fix or repair almost anything from cars to computers. He was a part-owner of Black Lumber Company and an IT consultant to the company during his later years. He possessed strong opinions on politics and social justice. Doug was an avid IU sports fan. Above all, he valued his friends and the importance of friendship.
Private burial services will be held later in Boonville, Missouri.
