James David Cowan, 72, formerly of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 near his home in Glidden, WI. He was born on March 11, 1941 in Columbus, MO to the late James Jett and Leona Cowan.
Dave was a former Noblesville Firestone Industrial Products Plant employee of several years, and worked numerous years at the Martin Marietta Aggregates Quarry in Lapel, Stony Creek Stone Company in Noblesville, and Marquit in Phillips, WI. Dave fulfilled his dream and moved North in 1991 to what he called 'God's Country', in Glidden, WI. A passionate nature lover, he enjoyed the daily blessings the animals brought to him every day as they navigated through his wooded property.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kay Russell Cowan; children, John (Carol) Cowan, Michele Cardwell, Charles (Keiko) Cowan, Tina Cowan Bryant and Debby (Kent) Findlay; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville with Rev. Stanley R. Sutton officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, January 3, 2014. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
