James Carl Doss Sr., 83, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He was born on July 20, 1931 to Millard and Edna (Anderson) Doss in Leona Mines, Virginia.
James was a carpenter by trade, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion in Fishers, a lifetime member of Bass Master's, and was a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts. James loved woodworking, and carved the most beautiful peach seed baskets and walking canes, and told the best tales you've ever heard. He loved life, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and hanging out with his buddies at the Sale Barn.
He is survived by his sons, James (Hoang) Doss Jr., Timothy Joe (Helen) Doss; and Ray (Leslie) Doss; grandchildren, Jason Doss, Billy Doss, Bryan Doss, Jessica Doss, Bridgett (Doss) Weible, and Branden Doss; 12 great-grandchildren; and countless family and friends that truly loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Doss.
Private services will be held.
