James Franklin Brown "Frank" Everett

James ‘Frank' Franklin Brown Everett, 86, passed into Paradise on July 23, 2014. He was born on January 29, 1928 in Allentown, PA to the late James M. and Madeline (Brown) Everett.
Frank served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947. He graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1950. On June 16, 1951, he married the love of his life, Thelma (West) in Allentown. They moved to Lancaster, PA in 1952. From 1952-1969, he worked for Armstrong World Industries at the Research Center in Lancaster, in the glass and closure division. While there, he led the group that invented the twist off crown, widely used in the beverage and beer industry. In 1979, the division was sold to Kerr Glass and he became head of quality control until his retirement in 1989.
They moved to Fishers, IN in 1994 to be near their grandsons, whom they spoiled. He was preceded in death by his brother, Russell.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma, of Indianapolis; his daughters, Jamie Sue (John) Schlenk of Fishers, IN, and Bonnie Allison (Jack) Frank of Maytown, PA; two grandsons, Daniel James of Noblesville, IN, and David John of Greenwood, IN; great-grandson, Matthew James; and sister, Marguerite Reppa of Warminster, PA.
A celebration of his life will be on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 6050 N. Meridian Street, in Indianapolis, IN with calling an hour before the service. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or to St. Vincent Hospice (c/o St. Vincent Foundation), 8402 Harcourt Road, Suite 210, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
