James Robert Gascho, 87, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at his home. He was born on May 6, 1928 to Walter and Margaret (Mott) Gascho in Noblesville, Indiana.
Jim graduated from Noblesville High School, and received a B.S. degree from Butler and Master's degree from Ball State. He was a life member of Alpha Delta Sigma and Phi Delta Kappa fraternities, and a former Rotarian. Jim was the first advertising manager of the Noblesville Daily Ledger, a teacher at MDS Washington Township Schools in Marion County, and the owner of Tellectro-Vision in Noblesville for many years. He was one of the developers of the OAVS (Oral, Aural, Visual Stimuli) system for teaching English in conjunction with Ball State University and Burris Lab School in Muncie.
He is survived by his son, Bruce Gascho (wife Marcia); and cousin, Martha Gascho.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Gascho, in 1995.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with visitation from 11:00 am to the time of service. Rev. Richard D. Bell will officiate. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
