Jim Gruver, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013.
Born on October 17, 1931 to Gerald and Ruth (Bauman) Gruver in Defiance, OH., Jim retired from Indiana Bell Yellow Pages, after a successful 30 year sales career. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and member of the V.F.W and American Legion.
Jim was a beloved father and grandfather and is survived by sons, Chris Gruver, Indianapolis; Jim (Betsy) Gruver, Fishers; daughter, Jodi Rangel, Fishers; son, Mike Gruver; sisters Karen Holley, Noni (Laddi) Frisinger & Pat (Bill) Betcher; grandchildren: Ryan, Nathan, Courtney, Joshua, Jimmy, Katie, Caroline, Aidan & Addison; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (1989) and son, David (2010).
A Calling will be held on Thursday, July 18th at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, from 10:00am to 12:00 pm, 8115 Oaklandon Rd., Indianapolis, where Jim was a member, with a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00. Please wear bright colors.
Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Lafayette, IN.
