James Lewellen Martin, Jr.

James Lewellen Martin, Jr., 72, of Novi, MI, formerly of Fishers, IN, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2014 after a valiant battle with heart disease and cancer.
A 1964 graduate of Ball State University, Jim was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. In 1985, he earned his Master's in Business Administration through Indiana University's Kelley School of Business Executive MBA program. Prior to retirement, Jim was the owner of Flexdar Inc., (formerly Rubber Type Service), a printing arts/packaging pre-press company. He also served as the President of the Graphic Preparatory Association from 1985-1987.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Pickett and JoAnn Orr; sister-in-law, Dr. Margaret Dust; sisters, Judith (Al) Gracie and Marcia (David) Sauls; a brother, David (Michelle) Martin; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice, and his parents, James Sr. and Betty (Murphy) Martin.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 7, 2014 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist Catholic Church, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am. Following a funeral luncheon at the Holy Spirit Parish Life Center, a private graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, in Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alice Martin Scholarship, c/o Marian University Office of Institutional Advancement, 3200 Cold Spring Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222.
