James Edward Overholt

James Edward Overholt, 76, of Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at home. James grew up and attended schools in the Chicago area. He was first employed by National Supermarkets, working his way up from stock boy to food broker to sales. Later, as VP of Sales for NAAS Foods, a private label company, he moved to Portland, IN with his family. He was CEO of NAAS Foods when it was sold, and he then moved to Libertyville, IL until retiring to Noblesville 20 years ago. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force; and was a member of the Optimists, Rotary, and Men's Bible Fellowship at First Presbyterian Church in Noblesville, where he was a member and Elder. He was an affiliate member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Cape Coral, FL, and was active in many ministries with his churches. His hobbies included tallship model building, woodworking, and H.O. railroading.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Overholt whom he married in 1961; his mother, Ann (Lutz) Overholt; his children, Deborah (Jeff) Johanning, David (Cindy) Overholt, James Overholt, and Michael (Andrea) Overholt; his brother, Wayne Overholt; grandchildren, Adam (Jackee) Franks, Zachary (Tonya) Franks, Orion Johanning, Shelby (Josh) Myers, Lucas & Anya, and Chris & Britney Durham; and great-grandchildren, Regan, Riley, JoJo, Autumn, Gavin, Peyton, Gwen, Kyler, Naima, and Victor.
He was preceded in death by his father, Waldo Overholt; and grandson, Donovan.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church of Noblesville, 1207 Conner Street in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am prior to the service. Pastor Eric Gale will officiate. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
