James Edward Parsley, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on August 24, 1932 to Floyd and Ella (Brewer) Parsley in Kermit, West Virginia.
Mr. Parsley was previously employed by Dow Chemical Company, Garage Door of Indy and Caito Foods. He enjoyed sports, playing pool, and was an avid gardener. He was an all around helper to anyone who needed him! He was also a veteran of the United States Navy.
James is survived by his wife, Mary Parsley; sons - Jon (wife, Trish) Parsley, and Jim Parsley; two daughters - Robin and Teresa; five sisters - Francis Preece; Ada Ann Ratcliff; Margart Whitt; Patricia Parsley, and Flordella Munn; two step-daughters - Jeanette (husband, Jeff) Hammer, and Cindy (husband, John) Sims; two step-sons - Ken (wife, Joy) Branam, and Kerry (wife, Renee) Branam; 14 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Louise Parsley; two brothers, Conrad and Billy Ray Parsley, and a step-son, Kevin Branam.
Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, September 24, 2010, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers, with Pastor Larry Wilson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, September 23, 2010 4:00PM - 8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road in Indianapolis.
