James E. Whiten, 45, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. He was born on January 3, 1969 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Jim was a great dad & husband. He owned Home Turf landscaping company and enjoyed boating, water & snow skiing, scuba diving, traveling, and playing guitar. Jim was also a pilot, loved airplanes & fast cars, and enjoyed making people laugh with bad jokes and random movie quotes.
He is survived by his wife, Jodie Harper; son, James Alexander "Alex" Whiten; father, James Lee Whiten; mother, Michele Holland; step-mother, Candy West; step-father, Duke Holland; grandmother, Gerri Kain; brother, Scott (Mariel) Whiten; sister, Renee (Hector) Lopez; niece, Brianna Lopez; sister, Melissa (Thomas) Brown, & baby niece "on the way"; aunt, Carol Dolder; sister-in-law, Denise (Kelly) Harper; brother-in-law, Shawn (Erika) Harper; several step-brothers & sisters; several nieces & nephews; and several aunt & uncles.
Jim was preceded in death by his baby daughter, Grace Harper Whiten; grandmother, Hazel Whiten; grandfather, James P. Whiten; and grandfather, Edward Kain.
A Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers, with visitation one hour prior to the time of service. Father Mike Welch will officiate.
There will be a celebration of life post-party at 4:00pm Sunday at Rick's Cafe Boatyard, 4050 Dandy Trail, Indianapolis, IN 46254.
