Jean E. (Seidel) Johnson, 81, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at her home in Fishers. She was born January 28, 1929 in Huron County, Ohio to Robert M. and Mildred Clare (Myers) Seidel.
Jean retired with Madison Collins Insurance Agency of Newark, Ohio as an insurance agent after 30 years. She was a member of the Amity Chapter Eastern Star of Greenwich, Ohio. She also was a member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. She was involved in the Cub Scouts as a Den Mother. She was an avid reader and loved watching the backyard birds at her home.
She is survived by daughter, Debbie (husband, Arnie) Haley of Fishers; son, Douglas Johnson of Newark, Ohio; granddaughter, Catherine Haley; sister, Nancy Thomas of Clermont, Florida; brother, David (wife, Linda) Seidel of Greenwich, Ohio; special friends, Gloria Thompson of Newark, Ohio, and Lyman P. Collins of Grandville, Ohio; nine nieces and seven nephews, and her special beloved dog, "Lily".
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Glasser, and a step-brother, George Angus.
Visitation to celebrate Jean's life will be held Sunday, May 16, 2:00 - 5:00PM at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Director's, Inc., 179 Granville Street, Newark, Ohio.
