Jeanne Marie, 83, passed away at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville, IN on Friday, April 26, 2013. She was born on November 22, 1929 in Duluth, Minnesota to the late Harry and Corrinne Heckathorne. At age 5, Jeanne was placed into the Minnesota State Orphanage in Owatonna, MN. Due to the passing of her father, she was placed in the orphanage along with 3 other siblings. That was her home for a few years until she was adopted by the late Mr. & Mrs. Dryke of Duluth, MN.
Jeanne married the late Lyle Staley of Duluth, MN. Together they had four children. Jeffrey Staley (Diane) of Bozman, MD, LaVonne Yalkut (Tony) of Noblesville, IN, Kristine Staley of Indianapolis, IN and Adrienne Ogle/Maynard (Barry) of Westfield, IN.
Her grandchildren include Jonathan Staley of San Francisco, CA, Lauren Staley of Arlington, VA, Chad Spugnardi (Aly) of Noblesville, IN, Jenna Ogle of Westfield, IN and Emma Ogle, also of Westfield, IN.
Jeanne later married the late Jack Rogers of Brazil, IN. He had no children. She is also survived by her siblings separated by adoption, Shirley Sharpnel of Bloomington, MN, Donna Smith of Milwaukee, WI, Elinor Agustsson of Chanhassen, MN and Parker Willson of Des Moines, IA.
Jeanne was a stay at home mom while her children were young. In 1974, Jeanne and Lyle Staley purchased Armstrong's Shoe Store on the square in Noblesville, IN from the late Mr. Armstrong. In her later years Jeanne worked for Kittle's Furniture Store in Castleton, Standard Locknut in Carmel, Lotus Garden in Carmel and was Activities Director for the Terre Haute Seniors Center.
Jeanne had a love for antiques and flowers, especially geraniums. She loved anything beautiful from shoes to gorgeous dresses to antique china. She was an extremely social person with an awesome laugh and smile. She was a true character in her day with a big personality. She will be missed.
Randall & Roberts Funeral Home is handling arrangements. There will be no calling or services at the funeral home. A "Celebration of Life" party will be hosted instead by invitation only.
