Jeannette Douglas, 98, of Cicero, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010 at home. She was born on March 2, 1912 to Glen and Essie (Cardwell) Eller in Noblesville, Indiana.
Jeannette was a homemaker. She was also co-founder of C&D Credit Bureau; co-owner of Douglas Campgrounds; sold Avon products; and also had worked at the ASC office. She was a member of Westfield Friends Church; the last living member of the E.L.C. (Everybody's Lonesome Club); past-president of Cozy Homemakers; member of the Noblesville Seniors Citizens; member of the Hamilton County Home Ec Choir; and was the choir director and a past-member of Hinkle Friends Church and Cicero Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughter - Marilyn (George) Cox of Noblesville, IN; son - Jim (Leora) Douglas of Noblesville, IN; five grandchildren - Loretta Obereiner, Dr. Michael Cox, Christy Featherston, Donna Calhoun & Jamie Malone; nephew - Bill Hiatt; niece - Nancy Stephens; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family would also like to extend special thanks to Barbara 'Bobbie' Sexton, who was Jeannette's care-giver.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Douglas in 1990; brother, Kenneth Eller; and sister, Mary Jane Hiatt.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St, in Noblesville, with Pastor Robert Stubbs officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
