Jennifer Carol Zeckel Hooker passed away on October 27, 2011 in Mooresville, N.C. She was born on Feb. 26, 1965 in Noblesville during one of the worst snow storms in Indiana's history. After struggling through deep snow drifts, they arrived at Riverview just in time. She was the daughter of Patty (Markle) Zeckel and Sam Zeckel.
Jenny and a small group of her girlfriends when they were 10 years old broke ground and became the first girl's to join the then Noblesville Boy's Club. Her pioneering spirit and determination helped the girls get accepted, the club later became the Boy's and Girl's Club. In 1975, she was awarded "Girl of the Year", this was the first time this award was presented. She was an avid soccer player while growing up. Jenny graduated from Noblesville High School in 1983. After graduation, she took classes at Vincennes University and graduated from the St. Louis School for Airline Training and Hotel Management. She was employed with Piedmont Airlines for a few years.
Jenny was a devoted mother and wife. She enjoyed cooking new dishes and being around her children, house, yard, and most recently, her new grandson. Jenny was active in her children's schools. She enjoyed reconnecting with many of her friends on Face Book over the past couple of years. She loved everybody, she never met a stranger. Jenny never forgot a Birthday. She is survived by her husband, Mark, daughter Rachel, and son Michael (Samantha). Father, Sam Zeckel, Mother-in-law, Barb Hooker, brothers Jeff and Steve Zeckel, sister Kathy (Mike) Smith. Nephew, Ben Smith and niece Hunter Zeckel. She had one grandson, Bentley Hooker. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patty Zeckel in 2003.
Visitation will be held at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home on Logan Street, Tuesday, November 1, 2011, 4pm - 8pm. A private family service and burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Noblesville Boy's and Girl's Club.
