Jerry Thompson, 85, of White Springs, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at his home. He was born on September 20, 1930 to Cuba and Onda (Harris) Thompson in Anderson, Indiana.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a member of the Seabees. He served in Guam as a mechanic during World War II. Jerry lived in California for 10 years before returning to Anderson. He was the owner of Anderson Transmission for many years. Jerry's passion was dog training, which he did for most of his life, and had trained several champion dogs. He was a member of the American Kennel Club, the Baptist Church in Anderson, and attended the Baptist Church in Florida.
Jerry is survived by his son, Ricky (Candy) Thompson; grandchildren, Teresa Thompson, Stacey Thompson, Eric Thompson, and Kelly Thompson; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three wives; and his step-grandchild, Shannon Walters.
Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with visitation from 1:00 pm to the time of service. Rev. Richard D. Bell will officiate. Burial will be at Zimmer Cemetery in Noblesville.
