Jessica Sue Adkins, 24, of Fishers, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. She was born on July 7, 1988 to Pete and Laura (Bensinger) Adkins in Des Moines, Iowa.
Jessica was a 2006 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School, and a 2011 graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She was a social worker with the Indianapolis branch of Public Allies, a national nonprofit organization that focuses on youth leadership programs.
Jessica was a typical 24-year old, on track to building her own life. She was a good person, full of life, very intelligent, and had a passion and calling for caring for others. It was her desire to help people, especially the disadvantaged. She wasn't concerned about money. It was her belief that everybody was an equal person regardless of financial status, and deserved to be treated as a human beings just as much as another person.
She is survived by her mother, Laura Adkins of Fishers, IN; father and step-mother, Pete & Cindy Adkins of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 10:30 am immediately prior to the service. Charlie Hoover, Assistant Principal of Hamilton Southeastern High School, will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to one of her three favorite causes, Planned Parenthood, Damien Center of Indianapolis, or Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
