NOBLESVILLE

Jessie A. Westlund

Jessie A. Westlund, 75, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home into the arms of her precious Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 19, 2024. She was born on June 9, 1949 to Rev. Gerald and Marion (Miller) Welbourn in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania.

Jessie was a remarkable woman and visionary. Her life and work were based on her mission in life, found in Matthew 6:33, " But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you." And her vision for life was based on Isaiah 61:1-3, to heal the broken and give hope and joy to all who would receive it in their lives. Jessie felt her call in life was to love people especially family, youth and women of all ages.

Jessie believed she needed to be intentional in any teaching and coaching to make sure people knew who they were and to walk with them to know God and that God loves them and purposely created them to have great joy as they walked in relationship with Him. Jessie wrote the following: I will live according to God's Word and realize this will continually be a growing process. It is my desire to love and be in relationship with Christ who is my Savior and guide for my life. My key values are Dignity, Love, Praise, Truth, and Creativity. I am to live out these values, by teaching women, girls, and children. "One generation will praise Your works to another and will declare Your mighty acts." Psalm 145:4 NASB

Her prayer each day: Dear Jesus as I seek you first everyday these will be my guiding principles, I will start each day looking to you to give me strength to live my life by these daily. This is timeless and I am thankful You will guide me in all seasons and decisions in life. I thank you God for creating me and giving my life a wonderful purpose on earth and for eternity. Jeremiah 29:11 I want to live so your will is done daily, Amen

In addition, Jessie was truly a Proverbs 31:10-31 woman. Her life can best be described by verse 29, "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."

Jessie was very humble about her accomplishments in life.

Jessie has been a registered nurse since 1972, working in the intensive care unit at several hospitals, was the executive director of Visiting nurses for 5 years. She was Chief Integration Officer and CEO of Post Acute Community Health Network, developed a palliative care program, developed a seniors program, and led a merger of visiting Nurse Association of North Central Indiana with Community Hospitals Home Care, Hoosier Home Medical, and Community Home Indiana. Jessie was a National Presenter on future advances in Health Care for Palliative Care, Home Care, Hospice and Geriatrics. She has received awards, asked to speak on several occasions, and a member of several medical organizations.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Dan Westlund; sons, Shawn (Mimi) Westlund, Stephen (Tobey) Westlund, and Douglas (Jessica) Westlund; sister, Debbie (Tom) Bellevue; brother, Rev. Douglas (Pris) Welbourn; grandchildren, Jonah, Hannah, Noah, Mikaela, Isaiah, Katie, Isabelle, Dani, Kylia, and Karter.
