John "Vic" Duckworth, 82, of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at his home. He was born on May 10, 1932 to Lonzo and Ruth (Rayer) Duckworth in Newton, Illinois.
Vic made his career serving in the United States Army, and was a member of the Carmel VFW. He enjoyed reading and working puzzle books. Vic was once interviewed by a group doing a school project, and the taped interview is on file in the Library of Congress.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Duckworth and Mary (Tony) Minnich; son, Robert Duckworth; sister, Clara Lou Rogers; brothers, Robert Duckworth and Elmer Duckworth; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Vic was preceded in death by his wife, Setsuko Duckworth; daughter, Victoria Duckworth; sisters, Florence Mallott, Dorothy Howe and Betty Durrough; sister-in-law, Jeanne Duckworth; and brother-in-law, Clarence Rogers.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with visitation from 10:00 am to the time of service. Entombment will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
