John Kierzkowski

John H Kierzkowski, 72, of Noblesville (formerly of Merrillville, IN), passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born on January 22, 1941, the son of Harry and Loretta (Izydorek) Kierzkowski in East Chicago, Indiana.
John was retired from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, where he had been a Deputy State Fire Marshall (from 1997-2007) and also retired from Ford Motor Company in 1997 after 33 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Noblesville. He was a life-member of the Independence Hill Volunteer Fire Department, and the Knights of Columbus Good Shepherd Council #10811 in Merrillville as well as the Noblesville Council. Other memberships include: the American Legion, where he had served as a Past-Post Commander & Vice Commander of District 1 and the Merrillville Fraternal Order of Police Associates where he had also served as a Past-President. He had also been Past Assistant Chief with the Ross Township Fire Service; and a member of the Air Force Reserves for six years.
He is survived by daughter, Corinne (Scott) Shudick, son, David (Sue) Kierzkowski, daughter, Jeanine (Kelley) Kaurich, son, Tom Kierzkowski, daughter, Marlene (Barry) Gregory, and 13 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 23, 2013, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 East 191st Street, in Noblesville, with Rev. Tom Metzger officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville. Burial with military rites will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul, 9900 E. 191st St, Noblesville, IN 46060.
