John Wetzel LeBaron

John Wetzel LeBaron, 82, of Westfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in Westfield, IN.  He was born on April 7, 1937 to William B. and Mary (Wetzel) LeBaron in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.

John attended Frankfort Pilgrim College and Acme Technical Institute.  He worked for nearly 40 years as a senior tool, manufacturing engineer at Best Lock Corporation, retiring in 2002.  At an early age, John developed a love for flying and aircraft from his uncle and evangelist, Curt Wetzel.  He took flying lessons and co-owned an Ercoupe airplane with his brother.  After he got married, John traded the plane for a house, however his love of aviation and space never went away.  He was very pleased when his son chose the aviation field as a career.

Along with his family, John loved the Lord and was a methodical supporter of church ministries, foreign missions, and Christian education.  He currently served as a board member at Village Park Bible Methodist Church of Westfield, and previously served as treasurer for several churches and church plants.

John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda LeBaron of Westfield; daughter, Susan LeBaron of Westfield; daughter, Johnna Shaferly (Dennis) of Vanlue, OH; son, Timothy LeBaron (Erika) of Manassas, VA; as well as many cousins and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William J. LeBaron in 2019.

Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Village Park Bible Methodist Church, 219 West 161st Street in Westfield.  Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield.
